*Welcome to the new Burnham On Sea RFC website.*
Situated on the coast of the Bristol Channel just 2 miles from junction 22 of the M5, the rugby club host all there visitors at the Burnham Association of Sports Club ground on Stoddens Road.
The rugby club guarantee that whether you are playing or visiting, you will get a warm, friendly welcome.
Burnham On Sea RFC run three senior teams, colts, juniors and mini's.
The first XV are now playing in the Western Counties North division after two consecutive promotions, whilst the second XV play in Somerset Three South. The third XV have a select amount of friendly fixtures throughout the season against other clubs within Somerset and the surrounding areas.
The colts play in the Somerset U19/colt league structure, whilst the juniors and mini's have friendly games against other local clubs.
The new committee
With the new season fast approaching and confirmation that the 1st XV team are to play in Western Counties West for the 2010/2011 season, a new committee was elected at this years AGM held on the 6th June.
Firstly, a big thank you is required to the following members who stepped down from there positions after three very successful seasons, and secondly we wish the new members the best of luck.
Gilly Hicks has stepped down from Chairman with Caine Harding taking over the helm. Gilly has now been elected the new role of Vice President.
John Piper has stepped down from the Vice Chairmans role with Pete Lewis as Caine's right hand man.
Katie Ede has been replaced by Lisa Tucker, as Secretary.
Stuart Blake has taken over from Tim Piper as Club Captain.
Matt Slater has taken on the task of 2nd XV captain from Lee Berry.
Alex Humphries has stepped in as Social Secretary previously held by Andy Norman.
Andrew Prewett is now the Chairman for the Juniors Section.
Mark Watkins has taken on the new role of coach co-ordinator.
Alan House and Sally Flack have stepped in committee members.
Mike Smith will continue as Membership Secretary, as will Chris Jones as Fixture Secretary, Don Bowerman as Treasurer and Lee Berry as Press Officer/Website.
The new committee would like to thank Mark Watkins and Don Bowerman, who have been proposed as Life Members, due to there hard work and commitment to the club over the previous years.
With a new committee on board, refurbished club house and yet another new league to play in this season, exciting times ahead are beckoning at Burnham On Sea RFC

Burnham On Sea RFC Senior Presentation Evening
As the season has now come to a close, with the 1st team securing there status in Western Counties North for another season and the 2nd team enduring yet another season in Somerset South Three, the annual presentation evening is being held on Friday 14th May at The Tavern, Brean commencing at 7.00pm. Tickets are available from the club or by calling Gilly Hicks on 07814 663395. The price for tickets is £17.50 each. There is also a mini bus service running from The Railway Inn starting from 6.30pm, for a small fee. Please come along and celebrate with all the players, partners and committee members for an enjoyable evening.
Gullivers Weekend - YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU!!!!
It that time of year again when Burnham On Sea RFC will be hosting the Gullivers Mini & Junior Rugby Festival on the 1st & 2nd May 2010. Anyone who may be interested in helping out over the bank holiday weekend must contact Gilly Hicks on 07814 663395.

Burnham On Sea RFC gain the Seal Of Approval
Mark Watkins and Lainey Paul Travelled to Bath RFC on Sunday the 31st January, and were presented with The Seal of Approval Award for Burnham Rugby Club by Phil De Glanville Former England Player. Not only were Mark and Lainey presented with the certificate but they also were invited as guests to watch the England Saxons v Ireland A play which England won 17 - 13. Mark and Lainey have worked tirelessly along with others, to make sure that the club recieved this recognised award. So a big thankyou to all involved in the hardwork in achieving this award. Having this award shows that our club has taken extra measures to ensure and promote a fun and safe structured environment for youngsters attending Burnham Rugby Club. The Award Certificate will shortly be displayed in the clubhouse, and also a plaque will appear shortly on the outside of our clubhouse.
Also, the senior and junior committee members would like to personally thank Mark & Lainey for the hard work and effort they have put into this, to achieve this status.
